Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
What is the Level 5
Diploma in Education
and Training?
The Diploma in Education and Training is a level 5 qualification in teaching. It has both theoretical and practical teaching elements. The Diploma in Education and Training is approved by the Society for Education and Training as initial teacher training. It can be followed by undertaking QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) to qualify you as a teacher on par with those with QTS.
Seminars focus on a particular topic exploring theory and practice that you can implement in your teaching practice straight away.
Continuing to a degree
Your diploma credits can be used towards a degree in the future (check with the degree awarding institution).
How long does it take?
Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training - 12 months
QTLS - 6 months
Our diploma programmes start in September 2023 completing in July 2024.
Who is it suitable for?
Anyone who wants to improve their practice as a teacher, coach or trainer can take the diploma. If you want to take your career to the next level, become a qualified teacher by completing the diploma and then undertaking QTLS.
You don’t need a degree to apply for the diploma, just competence in English and Maths, as well as a level 3 qualification in the subject or subjects you want to teach.
