Matt Bromley is the Lead Facilitator for the Teacher Training UK Virtual Programme

We are delighted to announce that Matt Bromley is the lead facilitator for our virtual programme.

Matt’s an inspiring, engaging speaker with incredible enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and developing best practice in schools.

After gaining his honours degree in English Literature, Matt later gained his PGCE and a National Professional Qualification for Headship. Matt has had an extensive career working in education; he works as a secondary school teacher and has previously worked as a secondary school headteacher, principal, FE college vice principal, and Master in Arts for Teachers (MAT) director.

Matt has been described as a “critical friend” to school leaders, providing fresh perspectives on practice and helping them to achieve significant improvement in their school’s teaching, learning and assessment.

Matt lends his expertise to a wider audience through his writing. As a regular blogger, he has also written articles for newspapers and magazines such as SecEd. In the series School and College Curriculum Design, he sets out 3 stages of the design process – intent, implementation and impact – providing a comprehensive handbook for teachers. His other titles include How to Become a School Leader, The IQ Myth, The New Teacher Survival Kit, and How to Lead among many others.

You can also hear him engaged in lively discussions on The SecEd podcast which was named 2021’s Best Education Podcast. In one of the most recent podcast episodes, you can hear Matt talking with school staff about supporting students in their transition from year 6 to year 7.

As well as being a public speaker and trainer, Matt is still teaching in schools. His drive for sharing best practice among education professionals is something we’re thrilled to share as part of our teacher training programme at Teacher Training UK.
